Meet Matthew!

Matthew Borgerson is a Mortgage Loan Originator based in Bethesda, MD, helping homebuyers and homeowners across Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Delaware, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

With over a decade of experience, Matthew works with a wide range of clients, from first-time homebuyers to high-income and self-employed borrowers, providing clear, strategic guidance tailored to each person’s situation. His expertise spans conventional, FHA, VA, and jumbo loans, as well as more advanced solutions including asset-based income programs for high-net-worth clients and financing for self-employed buyers.

Matthew is also highly experienced with local and state bond programs such as DC Open Doors, the Maryland Mortgage Program, and Virginia Housing (VHDA), helping buyers take advantage of down payment assistance and grant opportunities.

As a direct lender that retains servicing, Matthew offers a more consistent and relationship-driven experience both during and after closing. He also provides pre-underwritten pre-approvals, allowing clients to strengthen their offers and compete more effectively in today’s market.

What truly sets Matthew apart is his consultative and educational approach. Rather than simply quoting rates, he walks clients through the full picture, including current market trends, rate history, and real-time payment scenarios, often using screen-sharing video calls to review customized loan options and detailed estimate breakdowns. His goal is simple: make sure every client fully understands their financing and feels confident in their decisions.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, Matthew graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Economics and built his career across Bethesda, Washington, D.C., and Annapolis. He currently lives in Arnold, MD, and actively works with clients throughout the DMV, Annapolis and Severna Park markets.
